Salary: $115,726 - $120,404 p.a. plus 17% superannuation

About University Services

University Services comprises of 1,600 professional staff focused on providing client centric and innovative services to the University. The group is providing transformational change, defining and influencing future service enhancements within the University of Melbourne. The Team Leader – Network Core is a member of the Applications Management & Technology Management team which sits within the Infrastructure Services portfolio.

About the role

To lead a team of technical resources who perform monitoring, management and maintenance of Network Core environments across Melbourne University campuses to ensure the technical and operational stability, functionality and currency of the systems and infrastructure are maintained in order to facilitate delivery of quality outcomes in the achievement of Business Unit and Divisional objectives.

Provide leadership by ensuring efficient management and utilization of resources within the team to achieve the service delivery (projects) and service management (operational) components within Infrastructure Services.

The Network Core encompasses, but is not restricted to, the following areas: Core routing and switching equipment in the Data Centre (including Research environment), Load Balancers, VPN gateways, Firewalls, DNS, DHCP, University-wide IP Address allocation, CSM, LMS, DCNM, Statseeker & Scrutinizer.

About you

- Experience in managing and maintaining large network infrastructure, including Routing & Switching, within a complex environment.

- Subject Matter Expertise in one or more of the following vendor technologies: Cisco Nexus Switches, ACI, Palo Alto and F5.

- Proven ability to thrive in a changing and fast paced environment.

- Industry certification would be advantageous.
