About the role

Uniting Burnside has been providing services for disadvantaged and vulnerable children, young people and families for more than 100 years. This position is in the community programs teams  working with parents with children 0 – 5 years.

We are looking for 2 Casual Child Care Workers to join the team to provide childcare to children in a variety of programs and venues.

As a child care worker you will:

  • Prepare and conduct age appropriate activities for 0-5 year olds that support social intercation, education and transition to schools
  • Provide positive interactions with children, encourage their successes to create a warm, safe and friendly environment
  • Ensure that all contact with children and parents in the groups are positive, supportive and encouraging and all information is kept confidential


Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Relevant Early Childhood Tertiary qualifications or similar
  • Relevant experience with children and knowledge of children with additional needs
  • Demonstrated ability to program for children on an individual and group work basis
  • Demonstrated knowledge of child development and an ability to implement behaviour management strategies in a variety of contexts
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both children and parents
  • Ability to work as part of a multifunction team
