Due to an exciting new contract win, UGL are seeking applications from an experienced Quantity Surveyor/ Contracts Administrator to join Asset Services on a permanent contract to support the growing RTIO portfolio.


Primarily this position will be office based in our Perth head office, with the requirement for site visits as necessary.


The Quantity Surveyor/ Contracts Administrator you will be responsible for providing support to the project teams to assist in the effective administration of their head contracts during both pre-and post-contract state. Ensuring changes are identified, notified and details submitted in accordance with the head contract requirements.


Responsibilities Include:


  • Plan and manage the end to end commercial management of large contracts
  • Work effectively with internal and external stakeholders and direct reports to deliver project commercial outcomes
  • Effectively manage the procurement and administration of all contractor and supplier contracts within prescribed cost limits including assessment of progress claims and variations including EOT claims
  • Ensure integrity across all projects is maintained and enhanced through contract and commercial activities, in conjunction with timely reporting
  • Assist with Change Management of sub-contracts
  • Prepare Bills of Quantities and specifications for projects
  • Report on job progress and cost control to the Project Manager
  • Liaise with team in coordination of reports as required internally and by the Client
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of all project contract documentation including head contracts and subcontracts

To be successful in this role:

  • Able to draft correspondence and prepare detailed submissions for variations and extensions of time.
  • High level of contractual knowledge and understanding is required, with the capacity to identify respective parties’ rights and obligations.
  • Knowledge of construction and project management methods, procedures and processes, including cost and time control and management.
  • Works effectively as part of a team and able to manage priorities.
  • Good oral and written communication skills, attention to detail and administrative strength, negotiation skills and financial awareness.
  • Demonstrates high attention to detail, structured approach and accountability for own performance.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. quantity surveying, construction management & economics).
