This new role will report to the National HSE Manager Operations and will provide support across a number of sites. The role will assist line management and personnel in the effective implementation of UGL’s Health and Safety management and strategies. Responsibilities will include:

  • Support the National Manager HSE Operations Rail in developing and delivering improvement initiatives within the business.
  • Advise & coach Operational Managers, Supervisors and workers in regards to achieving compliance and best practice for WHS, Workers Compensation & Injury Management, Rail Safety & Environmental matters.
  • Provide HSE Assurance & Due Diligence Support, including undertaking internal audits and facilitating external audits.
  • Assist in regulatory reporting where required.

Ensure compliance with all record keeping requirements.

  • Have relevant tertiary studies and have some experience in a similar role within the HSE field
  • Previous experience in heavy industry
  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of Risk Management principles, hierarchy of controls etc.
  • Ability to conduct accident/incident investigations, risk assessments and hazard / injury management processes.
  • Have excellent communication skills including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with key stakeholders
  • Are customer focused, team oriented, accountable and results driven.
