UGL Asset Services Engineering & Asset Management (E&AM) has been awarded extended contracts covering the project management, asset management and maintenance activities for a number of sites of Oil & Gas Majors in various locations throughout Australia (Capital City and Regional). The E&AM business is actively seeking candidates who wish to join with us on these exciting contracts. Opportunities exist for short term and long-term appointments.
The role will work with a team of engineers to provide safe, reliable and efficient technical expertise to the business
Responsibilities Include:
  • Responsible for the delivery of the design and maintenance drafting effort, working closely with the Engineers, Asset and Project Managers to ensure timely, cost effective and fit for purpose drafting output.
  • Work with the skilled network of Drafting professionals to deliver the required drafting effort for the business.
  • Responsible for liaison with Design Engineers and development of layout (3D and 2D production drawings) are completed correctly to relevant standards and Drafting Procedures. Overview the layout and design principles and practices for the discipline design effort and assist in troubleshooting problems and issues.
  • Organise and conduct Model Review Sessions including Milestone Review Sessions and record outputs, i.e. minutes, action lists, etc.

  • Report on progress against plan. Conduct and compile periodic as required progress measurement of drawings and models against the project requirements.
  • Implement initiatives for product improvement (Project time scales) and exploit favourable opportunities for variatons in project scope.
  • Estimate work involved and correlate with hours allowed.
  • Assist in Project Close-Out and compilation of lessons learnt.
    To be successful in this role;
  • 10+ years’ industry experience in design and drafting with engineering contracting or consultancy organisations in the resource within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or Chemical industries.
  • Detailed knowledge of Australian and International codes and standards and the applicable statutory requirements.
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of 3D intelligent design and project delivery systems and procedures - with ability to lead peer groups in this knowledge base.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong and effective working relationships with other members of the specialist and regional teams both in project delivery and asset management
  • Excellent general computer literacy skills as well as specialist knowledge of discipline based applications software.
