We have opportunities for Electrical/Instrument Design Engineers to join the Asset Services division team in nationally.
UGL Asset Services Engineering & Asset Management (E&AM) has been awarded extended contracts covering the project management, asset management and maintenance activities for a number of sites of Oil & Gas Majors in various locations throughout Australia (Capital City and Regional). The E&AM business is actively seeking candidates who wish to join with us on these exciting contracts. Opportunities exist for short term and long-term appointments.
The role will work with a team of engineers to provide safe, reliable and efficient technical expertise to the business
Responsibilities Include:
  • Ensure the Electrical and Instrument engineering design effort (i.e. design calculations, drawings, specifications and technical review of the works, etc.) are delivered on time, cost effectively and fit for purpose for the project and business requirements
  • Produce technically acceptable standard of work and design deliverables.
  • Manage project workloads and when appropriate, engage external service providers to supplement the design requirements.
  • Ensure documentation of appropriate standard is provided to update all relevant Engineering, Operational and Maintenance databases on project completion
  • Ensure the safety of designs through application of specialist expertise, standards, reviews, risk assessments and risk management
  • Support the Asset Management teams with specialist E&I knowledge relevant to the site operations
  • Establish and maintain strong and effective working relationships with other members of the specialist and regional teams both in project delivery and asset management.
  • Deliver value engineering design packages fit for application purpose.
To be successful in this role;
  • Tertiary Electrical Engineering qualification
  • Registered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and RPEQ qualified.
  • 10+ years’ industry experience in Electrical Engineering within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or Chemical industries.
  • Previous experience in delivering technically acceptable standard of work and design deliverables
  • Detailed knowledge of Australian & International codes and standards, good engineering practice and the applicable statutory requirements with respect to Electrical systems in hazardous environments and Instrumentation systems.
  • Experience in design, construction and commissioning of HV, LV and Controls equipment and systems.
  • Ability to conduct & review E&I Design Engineering
  • Excellent general computer literacy skills as well as specialist knowledge of discipline based applications software.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong and effective working relationships with other members of the specialist and regional teams both in project delivery, asset management and Terminal operations.
  • Capability and flexibility to handle multiple projects in restricted timeframes to support line of business and project goals
