UGL Unipart Rail Services Pty Ltd was founded in December 2011 as a Joint Venture between UGL (Australia) and Unipart Rail (UK). UGL Unipart JV is headquartered in Auburn, NSW on a 17 hectare site at the geographical centre of Sydney.

UGL Unipart is seeking an experienced Testing and Commissioning Specialist to join our rail division based in Auburn, NSW. This position is responsible for carrying out, testing, and troubleshooting of complex Electrical, Electronic and Electromechanical systems and equipment as part of the Tangara Technology Upgrade Project.
You will also be required to participate in Train Trials and Testing during dynamic runs which are scheduled to run over weekends and nights.

  • Ensure that all testing and commissioning is carried out to a high standard, in a safe manner and in accordance with approved Test Procedures.
  • Advise Team Leader / Test and Commissioning Manager of problems and provide suggested solutions.
  • Ensure the economical use of materials and resources in the timely and safe completion of work.
  • Ensure that documentation such as job cards, record cards, databases, test sheets, figures, MJI’s are completed maintained and accurate.
  • Electrical or Electronics Trade Qualification.
  • Experience in the Railway maintenance or related industry.
  • RISI / RSW Accreditation.
  • Previous Experience working on Tangara, Millennium, Oscar or Waratah Train Electrical Systems (Desirable).
  • Previous experience working with Optical Fibre Installations or repairs.
  • Previous exposure to a Test and Commisioning environment.
