he $8.3 billion North West Rail Link is Australia’s biggest public transport project.

NRT Systems Joint Venture (SJV) is an unincorporated, integrated joint venture between MTR Corporation and UGL. The joint venture has been formed to deliver the Trains and Systems scope for the North West Rail Link. SJV will design and deliver the tunnel systems, rolling stock, rail signalling and overall control systems for the project.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Change Control Officer will be responsible for maintaining the project cost control database including cost projections and forecast cost estimates for variations and claims.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Ownership and management of project cost assessment and reporting

  • Ensure monthly corporate project review reporting deadlines are adhered to

  • Review and participation on project reviews to ensure actual costs and costs to complete are forecast in line with agreed procedures, thereby assuring management of the integrity of the forecast results

  • Participate and review all areas of the project cost analysis to ensure integrity of all costs to complete are kept up to date

  • Ensure through project finance and admin staff the timely preparation of progress claims and ensure prompt approval and payment of all claims are achieved

  • Monitor on a monthly basis, the works in progress to ensure claims recoveries from customers are managed to improve cash flow

  • Ensuring alignment of various modules/systems within cost reporting packages

  • Undertake adhoc tasks as instructed by the Commercial Manager and/or Senior Contracts Engineer

To be successful you will require:

  • Degree in a Quantity Surveying / Construction or Engineering Discipline

  • A minimum 2 years’ experience is a similar role

  • Good organisational and problem solving skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety stakeholders.

  • Be customer focused, team oriented, accountable and results driven.
