UGL Unipart Rail Services Pty Ltd was founded in December 2011 as a Joint Venture between UGL (Australia) and Unipart Rail (UK). UGL Unipart JV is headquartered in Auburn, NSW on a 17 hectare site at the geographical centre of Sydney.

UGL Unipart is seeking a Technical Auditor to join our rail division based in Auburn, NSW. The main purpose of the role is to be responsible for developing plans to audit Suppliers, undertake internal audits and support third party and customer audits to ISO 9001. The role also requires the applicant to maintain system register and produce management reports.

  • Ensure all work is compliant with UGL Rail’s Quality Management Systems policies and procedures and ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Developing yearly audit plans for all audits.
  • Conducting internal audits, technical visits and supplier audits.
  • Working with relevant stakeholders to ensure compliance to audit schedule.
  • Updating and managing close out of corrective actions database.
  • Support creation of a “Quality Integration and Ownership” culture through promotion of Quality Framework and Quality Policy requirements
  • Ensure compliance with all record keeping requirements
  • Proactively encourage Continual Improvement of process and product
  • Auditor or Lead auditor qualifications from a recognized certifying authority
  • Mechanical or Electrical Trade qualified.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and priorities demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands
  • Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Suite of products.
  • Rail industry experience and/or experience in a heavy maintenance, technical setting will be highly regarded.
  • Some proficiency in planning / supply chain software is preferred.
