Do you like to disassemble and rebuild mechanical components whilst dreaming of a career in the mechanical field?  This sort after Traineeship will see you gaining highly desirable skills in complex Naval systems. These are unique skills that you will gain from our on the job training and mentoring are invaluable to your development as a qualified technician. 

You will assimilate all aspects of the position including providing repair, maintenance and technical support whilst gaining experience and specialised knowledge.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the repairs, installation, testing and commissioning of mechanical/electrical equipment and systems in surface and sub surface Naval vessels
  • Perform fault analysis of commercial and military electrical/mechanical  weapons equipment and systems
  • Carry out repairs to electrical/mechanical systems
  • Assist in installation of all types of naval equipment in shore and ship borne environments
Key Skills & Experience
  • High school certificate weighted towards maths and science subjects
  • Successful completion of Year 10 School Certificate with passes in maths and science
  • Current Drivers Licence (or ability to obtain)
  • Demonstrated mechanical and/or technical aptitude
  • Well-developed communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment 
  • A strong commitment towards maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment
  • Committed to complying with all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures
  • Other related duties as assigned, which may include off-site work or projects outside the Sydney metropolitan area
  • A current NSW White Card (General Construction) is preferred 
Special Requirements: Must be an Australian Citizen to be eligible for a Defence Security Clearance.
