Job description:

About the role:
Lithgow small arms facility designs, develops and manufactures a range of small arms for the civilian and military market place .

The skills and experience that we have at Lithgow are a vital resource and we are developing our business into a world leader in design and manufacturing for both the civilian and military environments.
You will primarily be responsible for detailed planning tasks relating to shop floor and pre-production works, some purchasing activities as well as actively participating in continuous improvement and LEAN Manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Actively participate in the achievement of business goals
  • From the Master Production Schedule (MPS), plan and release production shop orders and monitor to meet MPS and customer deliveries
  • Release Purchase orders on suppliers to meet (MPS) Monitor supplier performance to meet plan.
  • Import and Export control of parts when needed.
  • Plan pre-production activities through the engineering and toolroom to ensure commencement of production is not delayed and MPS is met
  • Expediting and de-expediting with production to meet MPS
  • Create Bills of Material (BOMs) and Routings under the guidance of the Sub Contracting and Supply Chain Manager
  • Complete quality records in accordance with the Quality Management system and training

Key Skills and Experience:
  • Mechanical Trade (certificate 3 or higher) or Technical or Degree background, in complex Manufacturing
  • CPIM qualifications to APIC or similar would be advantageous
  • Ability to understand and interpret complex manufacturing drawings and work at a highly detailed level
  • Demonstrated experience in a planning role
  • Competence to a high level in computer software applications including word processing, spreadsheet, email and project planning

Special Requirements:
You must be able to obtain an Australian Security Clearance
A police check and medical are required for this role.
You must be able to obtain a NSW Firearms License
