The Thales Australia Maritime Ship Repair Services business offers repair, maintenance and sustainment services for commercial and naval ships in Australia, including provision of docking, reticulated services and facility maintenance.

About the Opportunity
You will join us as a critical member of our Maritime HSE Team where you will play an active part in championing health, safety and environmental systems and programmes that support Thales’ core activities in our Darwin site.

In support of handling site HSE activity, you’ll find yourself partnering with a variety of internal and external groups and will have the opportunity to create a positive impact toward the future success of our operations and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Provide support to patrol boat repair and site activities by driving the implementation of HSE plans, programs, and strategies
Conduct HSE improvement activities – audits, inspections, investigations, and work observations
Facilitate HSE hazard and incident reporting, and their follow-up corrective actions
Assist with site emergency readiness by performing rehearsals with the workforce
Develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to cooperatively achieve positive HSE outcomes on projects

About You
Our ideal HSE Coordinator will be highly dynamic, able to adapt your practices and knowledge to achieve progress and meet the changing expectations of our various customers.

You will have formal tertiary qualifications in WHS – additional qualifications in related disciplines will be viewed favourably.
You will have previous experience in a similar role where you have demonstrated your ability to prioritise time-sensitive deadlines.
You will have a keen eye for detail and the ability to resolve highly complex and potentially sensitive issues.
