Business Unit

The GTS-SIX Business Unit represents the combined activities of Thales Ground Transportation Systems (GTS) and Secure Communications and Information Systems (SIX) for the Australian and New Zealand markets.


About the role:

The Contract & Claims Administrator role will support the Supplier Manager and team to manage and deliver a project in the Ground Transportation Systems (GTS) domain that meets the customer’s requirements, and is delivered on time and on budget with optimum customer satisfaction. Core to the success of this position is the ability to be very organised and juggle competing tasks at any given time. To undertake the detailed planning and management of tasks as directed by the Supplier Manage


Key Responsibilities: 

• On a day to day basis your role will focus on contract, sub-contract management and site administration, while assessing notices and claims from subcontractors.

• Liaising with installation managers, schedulers, and legal and commercial on subcontractors’ claims for disruption claims, variations and extensions of time. Escalating the pass through of claims to principal entity.

• Monitoring and reporting on current subcontractors’ performance and assisting with contract disputes.

• Submittal and preparation of reports that are required by the Subcontracts and/or the Installation Manager. Review and assess progress claims with site installation managers in accordance with the respective subcontracts.

• Manage site documentation, including HSE documentation, progress reports, plans etc.


Key Skills and Experience: 

• Minimum of 3 years'' experience working in Contract Administrator, Senior Estimator or similar site based role.

• Experience within the rail, transport, construction, mining & resources or engineering industries (project experience). 

• Ability to read and interpret contracts, in particular variation, extension of time and claim clauses.

• Understanding of the Security of Payment legislation and experience in a Construction Environment
