Captain Starlight is a superhero from Planet Starlight, who entertains children and their families in hospitals across Australia. Our Captain Starlights are a team of experienced performers, trained to help children and young people through some of their most challenging moments – overcoming the anxiety of surgery, distracting them from the pain of having a dressing changed or simply relief from the boredom and isolation that hospitalization can bring. All Starlight, programs are centred on the social model of health, which recognizes the critical role of play, fun and social interaction to health and wellbeing. We are seeking talented performers to audition for the role of Captain Starlight, based in Darwin. Check out our awesome link for more information, Our Captain Starlight program is delivered in Darwin and also remote communities, and as such the successful candidate will need to be very comfortable flying in small aircraft! Seriously.

About you

To become a Captain Starlight you will have the following skills:


  • Diverse range of entertainment (performance) expertise
  • Experience working with children of all ages
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and sensitivity
  • Ability to work as part of a cohesive team

  • Skills used to engage children (e.g. balloon making, face painting, magic, music etc)

Starlight's mission is to brighten the lives of seriously ill children & young people and their families. Our first and most important responsibility is the safety and well-being of the children and young people we support.
