About the role

Service Stream''s Energy & Water business unit are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to work on our Large Scale Solar PV contract. Based out of our Collins Street head office, and reporting into the National Operations Manager - Large Scale PV, the role will be offered on a full time permanent basis. As part of the National Project Delivery team, the Senior Structural Engineer will provide professional engineering services to certify ground mount solar farms, and commercial roof structures for the deployment of Commercial and Industrial solar PV systems. The role will require design solutions for reinforcement of existing structures, and development of solutions for new construction sites that incorporate solar PV panels.

 

Key Responsibilities

  •  Manage the efficient capture of structural data for roof certification;
  • Assist the Project Delivery team submit structural certifications within KPI;
  • Develop repeatable and consistent design approaches for various common structures;
  • Contribute towards tender responses, proposal preparation and business development opportunities;
  • Ensure professional registration and certification processes are compliant for the national scope of services;
  • Consultant engagement, establishment, and mobilisation;
  • Maintain an energetic and enthusiastic approach to motivate the team to achieve above expectations;
  • Develop training modules for in-field teams, and transfer knowledge to sub-consultants;
  • Ensure compliance with relevant National and State legislation, codes and standards;
  • Contribute towards the maintenance of professional standards, quality control and continuous professional development;
  • Build professional working relationships with internal and external stakeholders (eg. Employees, consultants and clients);
  • Lead the ongoing review and improvement of QSE management systems and processes.

 

 

Skills and Experience

  • Chartered Member of the Institution of Structural Engineers
  • Recognised degree in Structural or Civil Engineering;
  • Professional accreditation with Institution of Engineers Australia;
  • Significant professional services experience in a consulting environment;
  • Comprehensive understanding of Engineering registration, approval and certification requirements, at both national and state levels;
  • Intimate knowledge of Legislation, Codes and Standards, relative to Structural Engineering discipline in Construction and Telecommunications industry sectors.
