Job Description

As a Senior Designer/Art Director (DM/CRM) you will oversee and deliver one to one customer experiences to the highest design quality possible. Your role involves: exercising an intellectual curiosity; demonstrating a strong sense of concept & craft; championing user-centered design (UCD) processes and techniques; assuming brand custodianship for clients; managing client relationships; and, collaborating with interdisciplinary project teams to create innovative communications which elicit a direct response.

Art Directors @ DT are responsible for contributing to the overall health of client relationships, setting design quality standards for your suite of clients, while directing and mentoring a small team of designers.


  • Work closely with the Insights & personalisation, strategy & content teams to develop & execute on CRM programmes that will drive activation, engagement and conversion
  • Concept ideation and brainstorming
  • Ability to collaborate with external agencies on creative concepts that bring campaigns to life
  • Ability to produce great creative and turn-around designs quickly that are on brand and communicate the right messaging
  • Storyboarding and sketching
  • Create low, medium and high fidelity wireframes
  • Creation of style tiles, UI kits, mood-boards and style guides
  • Strong advocate for work that marries best practices with market leading trends across the CRM space particularly email marketing, direct mail, on-site personalisation and display.
  • Develop ideas that push CRM campaigns beyond traditional email marketing activity
  • Be up-to-date on the latest design and technology trends
  • Assure the quality of your work and the work of those more junior to you
  • Support proactive client pitch work; alongside UX designers
  • Confidently present design work to key stakeholders
  • Quickly gain an understand of the our clients' data platforms, customers & audience segments
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Required Capabilities & Experience

  • You have a minimum of 4-6+ years experience in digital design, with a primary focus on work that elicits a direct response (DM and EDM)
  • Strong conceptual skills; UI design with commercial folio to demonstrate
  • Experience designing and developing brand guidelines, style tiles
  • Proficient in user-centred design methodologies
  • Strong experience across the Adobe CS suite, Invision, Sketch, JIRA
  • Strong communication skills
  • Broad knowledge of automated marketing platforms such as Adobe Campaign, Exact Target or Responsys
