Job Description

J. Walter Thompson Sydney is searching for a resource assistant. This is an entry level role and a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about joining an agency to learn how it works from the ground up. 

Reporting to the Resource Manager, your primary responsibility will be assisting them to ensure projects are resourced correctly and meet deadlines. Together, you will track projects from the briefing phase right through to delivery. Adapting to changes in requirements and timings along the way. You will get to work with account management, creatives, designers, producers and even finance. It’s a fantastic opportunity to gain a very deep understanding of how an agency delivers work for their clients.

Resource management is an incredibly important function and it takes a special kind of person to excel. You need to be incredibly organised, good at communicating, solutions orientated and focused on details and deadlines.


  • Assist the Resource Manager to ensure that projects are resourced and delivered on deadline.
  • Update and maintain creative Work in Progress reports using Excel
  • Manage and update diary entries to assist with the management of creative resources
  • Assist with the management of studio resources
  • Enter data and maintain records & files for the Resource function

The salary for this position is $45,000 inclusive of super, please consider this before applying. 



  • Tertiary qualified ideally in a creative discipline


  • Some understading of design and production processes
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
