Job Description

J. Walter Thompson is searching for a new receptionist to join it’s team in 2017.

We expect the person charged with making a first impression of J. Walter Thompson to take their role as brand ambassador seriously. They’ll need to embrace our commitment to being the “antidote to “indifference” and strive to make the experience of calling or walking in to J. Walter Thompson anything but ordinary.

This “one of a kind” person needs to be professional, efficient, proactive and helpful but also interesting and fun! Our culture is very creative and we want someone who is excited about contributing to this.

Our office space in Pyrmont is very impressive. We have agile work practices, a great open plan layout and a roof top terrace. The hours for this role are 8.30am – 5.00pm, Monday to Friday and the successful candidate will ideally commence on Monday 9 January 2017.

This role reports into the Agency, Projects and Special Events Manager and offers lots of variety. In addition to answering phones and greeting agency clients and guests you’ll also get to help organise meetings, functions and events.

There will be a few other admin responsibilities and special projects for you to work on but recpeetion shoud keep you pretty busy! A full job description detailing all responsibilities is available on request.


  • The ideal candidate will have reception and administration experience.
  • We are also open to considering candiates with relevant qualifications (creative or marketing) who aspire to work in an agency and are interested in a role that could offer a transition opportunity.
  • You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills both in person and over the phone.
