Your role will be to lead and develop our strong Gifts in Wills program and help build on our major gifts activities as our organisations undergoes a transformational approach to invest and broaden our fundraising capacity. You will engage with our significant donors and match their passions and generosity for real change in making animal welfare better in our community.

About the opportunity

The Supporter Relations Manager has overall responsibility for implementing and managing an effective Major Gift and Gifts in Wills fundraising program to achieve RSPCA Victoria’s vision and purpose.

This will include developing, implementing and managing the RSPCA’s Gifts in Wills and major gift fundraising programs through all aspects of the supporter journey:

  • Promotion and Acquisition: Promoting Gifts in Wills and major giving by initiating and responding to philanthropic support for the RSPCA;
  • Cultivation and Conversion: Inspiring existing supporters to support our immediate needs in major giving and/or including a gift to RSPCA Victoria in their Wills; and
  • Stewardship and Retention: Actively managing relationships with major supporters and members who already donate and/or have included a Gift in their Will.

About you

The right candidate has a minimum five years fundraising experience with proven success in relationship fundraising with a passion for high value philanthropy and planned giving. With outstanding communications skills and exceptional time management, you and your team effectively manage donor expectations and provide a superior donor experience.

Your sound knowledge of fundraising legislation, practices and philosophy ensures you adhere to the necessary rigor required for quality donor database record upkeep and administration.

Your professional maturity allows you to know when to ‘make the ask’ to help deliver on our organisations vision to end cruelty to animals.

You will lead and develop the Supporter Relations team, creating a high performance culture where every individual can grow and develop in their role

RSPCA Victoria is a state based non-government, community based charity that works to prevent cruelty to animals by actively promoting their care and protection. The organisation, its role and profile, has grown significantly in recent years. The status of the RSPCA and of the RSPCA (Victoria) in particular, as the most relevant, valid and significant animal welfare body is valued and must be maintained.

RSPCA Victoria has continually enhanced its capacity to care for and protect animals in recent years through its animal care, rehabilitation and adoption centres and rapid response to an increasing number of animal welfare and cruelty prevention issues in our community.
