Where the Content & Production team fits in

The Content Producer - News & Guides sits within the Content & Production team in the Media Line of Business. The Content & Production team works together to drive audience, experience and awareness. Our goals are consumer engagement, acquisition, retention and reputation management. We help the organisation move towards its goal of ‘changing the way the world experiences property’, by acquiring new consumers, retaining current customers and consumers and by being involved in the property conversation. We achieve these through our annual plans and tactics using content, brand, personalisation, social and communications.

What youll be doing                                                                                                                                         

Do you live and breathe the issues and events impacting the property market? Content Producer - News & Guides supports the Managing Editor – News & Guides to implement’s News & Guides strategy and plays a vital role in managing the day-to-day content partnership with News Corp, our external freelance contributors and supports the various Lines of Business (LoB’s) as they seek content creation services. You will be creating rich and engaging content across editorial and video and optimising editorial and video to ensure maximum traffic and engagement.
The Content Producer – News & Guides supports the Content & Production Team in the following ways:

  • Develop original and engaging News editorial and video content for use on site and social, including the writing of quick-turnaround news articles and video briefs  
  • Develop and commission original and engaging Guides editorial and video content for use across the Buying, Renting, Selling, Investing, Finance & Building Guides
  • Curate & pages with content received each week from external contributors
  • Liaise with various LoB’s as they seek content creation services and manage these requests through brief, creative/ideation, production and delivery   
  • Assist the Content Editor and Managing Editor with the commissioning of content through external contributors
  • Ensure all content is SEO optimised, including integrated links to other on site content
  • Daily creation, building, layout and scheduling of News & Guides content into publications via WordPress
  • Sub-editing, picture editing and working with galleries and video uploads and tagging all content appropriately for SEO and personalisation
  • Solid editing and proofing skills
  • Work with the Content Editor and Managing Editor – News & Guides on content planning and ideation to ensure coverage of all upcoming major issues and events likely to impact the property market
  • Regular monitoring and reporting on News & Guides content performance
  • Ensure content is delivered to the web in a timely and consistent manner, and optimised for audience growth and retention (time on site)
  • From concept to completion, think about commercial opportunities for content and collaborate with the Brand Partnerships team in regards sponsored content requests where necessary
What were after
  • 3+ years in editorial content production across digital, magazines and television preferably in the property and/or news space
  • Editorial experience in news / magazine / website environment
  • Commercial experience and high level of business acumen
  • Strong influencing, negotiating and relationship building skills
  • Strategic thinking and problem solving skills
  • Creative and innovative approach
  • Experience with creating and curating editorial and video content (demonstrated ability to understand content aggregation)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Looks at tricky situations through a positive solutions-focused lens
  • Thrives in a fast paced and agile environment
