Global Infrastructure and Architecture - GIA is the Melbourne-based team in Group Technology that has global responsibility for REA’s critical infrastructure and software architecture. We identify topics of architectural significance, make global decisions regarding architecture and direction, and communicate and coordinate responses to architectural challenges and questions.
Our purpose is to maximise the effectiveness of REA’s delivery by working closely with Line of Business teams and the Global Architecture Forum to set and communicate direction on areas of key architectural significance globally. When these areas are identified, GIA team members engage directly with development teams to help get projects and tasks done. This embodies the approach of being part of creating architecture rather than telling people how to do it.
