As the Principal Education Officer, Regional Services you will:

  • Provide strategic and operational advice to the Director Regional Services and Principals on a wide range of legal, policy and procedural issues, as well as on the delivery of specialist regional services that assist the development of inclusive schooling practices for students with diverse learning needs.
  • Manage the distribution of resources to support the activities for students with additional educational needs.
  • Lead the development and implementation of inclusive schooling practices within schools, including the enhancement of capacity building methodologies and the professional learning needs of specialist regional staff.

Ensure quality systems are in place to manage the reputation of the department through:

  • Complaints and investigations
  • Internal/external communication and relationships
  • Compliance and regulation

While not mandatory, a teaching background in the area of special needs would be highly regarded.

The Principal Education Officer, Regional Services reports to the Director Regional Services, State Schools Division or the nominated delegate.
