About the role:
We are currently seeking a Category Specialist to join our team in Brisbane, on a 12 month fixed term contract.  This role reports directly to Director – Services and Projects and is responsible for contract management support, reporting and analytics specialising in services and projects.
  • Execute end to end strategic sourcing activities including tendering, commercial analysis, negotiation, and contracting to procure services across our mining platform; 
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to ensure best value for money outcomes for the business through well executed strategic sourcing and contract negotiation activities; 
  • Support the procurement function in communicating and reinforcing the requirements of the Procurement Governance Framework to all internal customers and stakeholders; 
  • Communicate and support internal procurement governance practices within the business whilst delivering effective solutions to operations;
  • Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers, internal customers and stakeholders; 
  • Maintain a strong focus on cost containment activities;
  • Support stakeholders with guidance and reports on supplier performance & assisting in the resolution of supplier disputes; and,
  • Identify opportunities and provide recommendations for cost reduction and process improvement across the business.
About you:
  • Degree qualifications in Business, Supply, Logistics or similar stream or equivalent practical experience; 
  • Excellent contract negotiation and supplier management skills (essential); 
  • Solid financial analysis and dispute resolution skills; 
  • Outstanding communication skills; 
  • Strong and positive team player focus;
  • Solid contract drafting experience highly desirable;
  • Flexible approach to processes;
  • Ability to self-manage;
  • Passion for safety; and,
  • Previous mining experience is preferred.
