Why Join Us?
We are currently accepting applications for a Shotfirer at our Wilpinjong Mine. Our Wilpinjong mine is an open-cut mine located 40 kilometers northeast of Mudgee producing a high quality thermal coal for export and domestic markets. 
Reporting to the Team Leader, the incumbent will assist in running the drill and blast program onsite.  Duties are:
  • Demonstrate safe behaviors and provide visible safe leadership to team members
  • Fulfill the statutory Short firer requirements for the mine
  • Ordering and receiving of bulk explosive products
  • Managing inventory levels of explosive accessories
  • Compliance with statutory requirements around storage and product accounting
  • Security Management of the reload and magazine
  • Audits against company standards
  • Magazine keeping
About You:
Critical to your success will be:
  • Must hold NSW BEUL and have NSW Security Clearance
  • Nonel Surface Connection Experience
  • Experience in open cut mining operations within the coal industry
  • A staunch commitment to safety and continuous improvement as a way of life
  • Possess well-developed communication, negotiating and influencing skills and confidence in your knowledge of drill and blast practices
