Are you ready?

We are looking for a superstar Data Scientist who will conduct data science research and data mining analysis, build machine learning models and implement algorithms into our software products and data services. This role is part of research and development to solve problems in telco network management, transportation, urban planning, real time crowd management, and retail intelligence, to name a few. You will be closely collaborating with your colleagues in the Data Science team in the Consulting, Service Engineering and Product teams to develop relevant data science and analytics solutions cost-effectively and innovatively making use of proprietary data and algorithms of DataSpark together with your own background. You will contribute to the Research and Development competencies of DataSpark, such as the mobility or content competencies, contributing with specific skills in relation to industry domain knowledge, innovative technological or data science approaches.

Your essential checklist for success...

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Analytics or a related quantitative discipline;
  • A minimum of 3+ years’ experience of successful application of machine learning, data mining, and statistical analysis with demonstrable impact and proven tracks records;
  • Demonstrated ability to take high level, loosely-defined business problems and identify precise, quantitative solutions;
  • Demonstrated experiences of databases and engines for structure and non-structured data, data transformation (ETL), software development methodologies, and data science languages like Python, R, or similar;
  • Strong use of BI tools such as Tableau, SAS or Qlikview, underpinned by strong programming skills;
  • Experience shipping software through full software release cycles, ideally more than once, with proven skills (agile methodologies, testing, version control);
  • Capable of experimenting with various algorithms and developing own code and scripts for data manipulation, experimentation, algorithm implementation, accuracy measurements, etc.;
  • Ability to communicate with data in a clear and precise way to business audience and company customers;
  • Experience in active commercial deployment of emerging Big Data technologies and real-time analytics;
  • Self-starter willing to explore, research, experiment and innovate, highly passionate about Data Science; and
  • Highly organised, commercially astute, self-motivated, pro-active, tenacious and energetic.

Highly advantageous skills to have...

  • Deep familiarity with the telecom operator business will be a significant advantage;
  • PhD in a relevant quantitative discipline with hands-on experience in working with Telco or geolocation data; and
  • Proven experience in Big Data Framework (Hadoop, Spark, Scala or similar).
