About the opportunity

Optus SMB team is looking for Business Development Managers to join our high performing Sales team located in Townsville. The purpose of your role is to acquire new business via the sale Fixed Voice, Data, Mobile, Mobile Broadband, traditional PABX and Cloud/ ICT solutions into the Medium segment of SMB (20 – 150 employees).

Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will need to be highly motivated, energetic with a can-do attitude to exceed business targets and execute strategies to grow market share in this segment and product range. You will work with our Lead Generation team for creation of new opportunities from the market.

To be successful in this role you will have a proven and successful sales track record within the telco/ ICT market, in addition to strong capabilities in solution/relationship/insight selling to both existing and new customer opportunities is essential.

Success in this role will be evident through the achievement of business targets through new acquisition and penetration of services into the existing base. Your ability to effectively differentiate from our competitors in the Customer experience that Optus can provide customers and to engage with Senior Executives across a range of SMB organization will set you apart from the rest.

About you :

Our ideal candidate is an experienced or senior Business Development Manager with a strong sales track record within Telco, IT or ICT organisations

  • A true hunter with the passion and hunger to succeed, high levels of personal commitment and willingness to accept accountability for actions
  • Your ability to self-generate your own leads and opportunities will be critical to your success.
  • You are commercially astute with sound awareness of business drivers and value propositions
  • Proven sales track record in achieving growth through acquisition strategies and sales teams and customer loyalty through strong relationships
  • Knowledge and experience in selling Fixed Voice, Data, Mobile and Mobile Broadband will be highly regarded
  • High level negotiation skills and excellent verbal, written, presentation and effective listening skills.
