Primary Objective: Contribute to the implementation of the Elders Visitor Program (EVP) and the NTCS Community

Engagement Framework through the provision of project management, strategic advice, research and analysis and

dissemination of information.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assist with the development and implementation of EVP regional plans, strategic initiatives to inform policy and

program development through community engagement with and in collaboration with key stakeholders.

2. Facilitate efficient and affective delivery of a range of services related to community engagement activities across all

divisions of NTCS; including preparing communication resources that will assist with promotion and delivery of new

initiatives and programs.

3. Broker partnerships and support networks to generate solutions that reduce reoffending and contribute to community

safety.

4. Identifying potential new service areas or best practice program delivery to providing services best suited for an

Indigenous clientele.

5. Monitor community feedback and provide summaries to program areas including tracking and monitoring Indigenous

engagement outcomes in your region.

6. Conduct meetings with stakeholders and provide secretariat support, including at EVP regional and annual forums.

Selection Criteria:

Essential

1. Proven knowledge and awareness of cultural and cross cultural issues that impact on ATSI people within the Justice

system

2. Experience in working with a wide range of government and non-government organisations, and community

engagement.

3. Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and manage multiple projects with conflicting priorities to achieve agreed

targets and outcome in a timely manner

4. Demonstrated high standard of oral and written skills, including report-writing, analysis and working with computers

and databases

5. Ability and willingness to undertake extensive remote travel via vehicle and light aircraft and hold a current manual

Northern Territory drivers licence or the ability to obtain.

Further Information:

The Department of Correctional Services has a Smoke Free Policy. Staff are not permitted to smoke anywhere on
