The Opportunity 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Contract Management Specialist to be a part of our Rural and Regional Service Delivery and Performance team within Transport for NSW. 


This position plays a key role in developing, refining and implementing consistent contract management processes and strategies for Rural and Regional and Sydney Outer Metropolitan areas and actively managing strategic and transactional aspects of contract management to business unit leadership teams.


We are looking for an individual who can contribute to commercial engagements including tenders, evaluations, and supplier negotiations to ensure that service contracts reflect strategic transport outcomes and short to medium term planning requirements. The key to success with the role will be the ability to provide targeted support in contract management, service variations, and contract documentation to ensure suppliers comply with their contractual obligations, including performance standards, and providing safe, cost effective and efficient services to customers. 


In this position you will manage the end to end contract management activities to ensure that contracts and their management are customer focused and consistent with government priorities and Transport for NSW strategic directions to deliver high quality, integrated, customer oriented services and demonstrates value for money. 


Reporting to the relevant regional Principal Manager Service Delivery, you will provide accurate, expert and timely advice, information and reports on the strategic and transactional aspects of contract management relevant to their contract portfolio to highlight any trends, forecasts or risks that require management intervention and/or strategic solutions for further action.

Essential requirements


Relevant qualifications in procurement, law, commerce, business or economics and/or equivalent industry experience.
