The NSW Government is spending over $20 billion on creating improvements and developing major plans and projects to deliver a world class transport system through our Rebuilding NSW Plan.
 
The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Contracts Administrator to join our Commercial Team within Transport for NSW. This position will play a key role in providing effective and efficient management of contracts and governance support to Transport for NSW’s New Intercity Fleet project, a $2.8 billion investment in a brand new fleet of next-generation intercity trains, giving long-distance customers a more comfortable and air-conditioned ride. 
 
We are currently looking to place the following role:
  • Temporary Full-Time position (up to December 2019) 
  • Located initially in Chatswood and relocating to the site office in the Blue Mountains region later in 2018 
Contracts Administrators report functionally to the Commercial Manager along with a multi-level team comprised of TfNSW permanent staff, plus seconded, assigned and contracted personnel, professional service contractors and other contracted entities. 
 
Specifically, Contracts Administrators are responsible for:
  • Providing support in the tender compilation, evaluation and selection process of contracts
  • Administering contracts and professional services contracts
  • Assessing and reviewing contract claims for payment, variations and extensions
  • Providing updates on contractor performance and assisting in the resolution of contractual issues
  • Preparation and submission of reports as required by the Project
  • Providing commercial guidance to the project team
We are now seeking a talented and experienced Contracts Administrator for a predominantly site based role that will initially be based in Chatswood, and will move to the site office in the Blue Mountains region later in 2018

The Program Management Office (PMO) within Transport for NSW is responsible for the management of consistent deployment of project management and commercial support across Infrastructure & Services to enable the end-to-end development, service performance reporting, divisional governance and management of transport infrastructure.

TfNSW Transport Service Grade 8: $109,589 - $122,739 plus superannuation and leave loading
 
Essential requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline e.g. Quantity Surveying, Law, Construction or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Contract Administrator on construction, engineering, or transport projects.
