The NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) is the state’s primary environmental regulator. We work with business, government and the community to manage and reduce pollution and waste. The EPA is a separate agency within the Planning and Environment cluster. We respond to pollution incidents and emergencies and enforce environmental regulations, monitor compliance and investigate reports of pollution.
 
Primary purpose of the role
 
Undertake diverse day to day tasks relating to the environmental regulation of NSW public authorities and government infrastructure to minimise pollution impacts. This may include compliance, licensing, environmental assessment, pollution incident response, investigation, strategic projects and other regulatory activities, as determined by EPA operational priorities.

  • extensive experience influencing and negotiating, to achieve sound environmental outcomes
  • a demonstrated capacity to solve challenging problems, including those with significant stakeholder and community interest
  • a track record in delivering results on environmental projects
  • sound knowledge of relevant environmental legislation
