About us
The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is a specialist service department working to support the operation of the Parliament of NSW by providing logistical support and advice to members, the Departments of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly and the people of New South Wales.

About the position
Our Capital Works Project Managers are responsible for managing the delivery of building projects and related activities for the Parliament of New South Wales.

In this role you will manage individual projects throughout their whole lifecycle, ensuring client needs are met, while meeting time, cost, quality, work, health and safety and environmental requirements. These projects include a wide variety of major capital works and regular building maintenance programs.

1. Give a recent example of a fast paced role where you were responsible for managing all aspects of a project, including financial management and reporting. Describe how you implemented controls i.e. finance, project and risk. Demonstrate how you used project management processes and methodologies in order to meet project milestones and deadlines under pressure.

2. Describe a project you have managed where you were responsible for communicating with a range of internal and external stakeholders. What tools and processes did you use to communicate and manage relationships with stakeholders and your team? Give an example of how you negotiated with a consultant or contractor to resolve an issue on behalf of the organisation.
