JOB NOTES:

Essential requirements - applicants must: 
  • hold tertiary qualifications in a relevant Information Technology discipline or have demonstrated experience in Project Management; and
  • have flexibility to work to meet project deliverables outside of core business hours.
Applicants should hold a current driver’s licence with no traffic offences recorded on their driving history within the last six (6) months or NSW Police Force Bronze Certification. 

This position is a Temporary employment/appointment under Section 82D, 90/91 or 95 of the Police Act. 1990 up to 12 months.

Responsibilities

The Project Manager - ICT manages the risk, quality and progress of ICT projects to organisational standards, and ensures projects are completed on time, on budget, to quality standards, and within agreed scope. 

Key accountabilities
  • Manage project stakeholder expectations by understanding their needs and setting project stakeholder expectations with respect to project delivery objectives. 
  • Ensure project solutions comply with the NSW Police information technology policies, procedures, standards and security practices by maintaining awareness of and applying requirements and architecture standards and taking corrective action where necessary. 
  • Ensure that risks, including mitigation steps are documented at the earliest opportunity and then communicated to all stakeholders. 
  • Coordinate/manage the work of a project team to ensure agreed outcomes are achieved and proactively communicate status with all stakeholders on a regular basis. 
  • Adopt an agreed delivery framework / methodology as defined by Management. 
  • Manage all change management activities for the project including training.
  • Drive the delivery and implementation of the project towards success by ensuring that operational level agreements are defined and then executed within stipulated time Where applicable, monitor and manage Service Level Agreements as per contractual agreement.

  • Manage complex and competing demands with multiple stakeholders whilst Project objectives are achieved.
  • Manage effective project teams and relationships with stakeholders.
  • Coordinate technology and technical resources to achieve the project outcomes.
