About the role:

Metro Trains has multiple opportunities for ambitious and customer service driven professionals to join the Operations team as an Authorised Officer and play a pivotal part in achieving Metro’s passenger experience objectives. Your primary responsibilities will be to patrol the public transport network ,report where appropriate breaches of the public transport act and regulations, including fare evasion, vandalism and anti-social behaviour. We are looking for people with exceptional customer services skills, safety conscious attitude and someone who has effective problem solving skills.

But there’s so much more to being an Authorised Officer; you’ll help passengers with their travel information, assist those with special needs, make the passenger journey a safer one, and importantly, you will help improve the public transport experience for Melbournians and its visitors.

This role offers great benefits including attractive rates of pay, free travel on public transport and paid training which results in obtaining an accredited qualification which includes a formal government accreditation in law and procedures. Employment will be based around an 8 week rotating roster inclusive of Public holidays, weekends, shift work and a 24 hours availability.
