About the role:
The Assistant Project Manager plays a key role in leading the management of the 3rd Party Access requests, and manages the 3rd Party Projects as required.

One of Metro’s key responsibilities is to manage external organisations access onto and off its operating Rail Lease. These approaches are managed from application to completion by Metro’s 3rd Party Projects & Access team.

The group also assists other organisations in delivery of Projects and acts as the main point of contact to ensure Metro’s requirements are properly understood and implemented.

Key tasks include:
•    Lead and guide junior team members on access consideration
•    Safety Management Plan & Safe Work Method Statements review
•    Permits application
•    Occupation management
•    Metro internal critical resources planning and management
•    Project finance management
•    Stakeholder relationships management

Metro’s external clients include Public Transport Victoria, VicTrack, VicRoads, local Councils, governmental and private organisations.

Metro is seeking applications from candidates who have proven and relevant rail experience, display leadership skills and has the ability to enhance working relationships with stakeholders.

About your experience:
Ideally you have relevant rail experience and have proven experience in management of projects and team.

Additionally, you value the importance of teamwork and of listening, challenging your peers and making a difference. You are confident to bring innovation to the table. You have the agility to engage with a variety of stakeholders at all levels and the ability to manage multiple priorities while remaining focused on excellence. Consultative approaches to providing solutions regarding challenging assignments mixed with exceptional customer service are critical skills you've demonstrated over your career.
