About the role:

In this role, you will lead the procurement and contracting for Operational Control and Monitoring System packages of the Rail System Alliance (RSA) to ensure a timely delivery of contractual obligations and safeguard the interests of the Alliance.

Duties will include:


  • Assist in the development of strategies and achieve the best procurement results for all client requirements
  • Establishment and ongoing management of contracts for both long and short term requirements, with appropriate commercial, pricing, risk and legal controls
  • Provide leadership and guidance in the preparation and structuring of scopes of works and technical specifications for inclusion in contracts
  • Develop commercial systems and processes that assist Rail Systems Alliance to deliver the services in line with Project requirements.
  • Assess the financial, legal and operational impacts of commercial contracts, providing accurate and timely advice to form the basis for managers to make key business decisions.
  • In partnership with the OCMS managers, proactively manage contracts to ensure variations are effectively managed and contract obligations are met by both parties.
  • Ensure contractors’ paperwork is maintained and current, including certificates of currency for insurances.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and suppliers in a project environment and provide timely commercial advice
    • Assist on the management of contract disputes, as required.
    • Ensure policies, procedures and delegations are adhered to
    • Adherence to all legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Adhere to legislative changes including transport, construction, environmental, rail and workplace safety laws

About your experience:

To succeed in this role, you will have demonstrated experience in procurement and contract management of complex technical packages within a major infrastructure project and hold a tertiary qualification in Business and/or Commerce.

Additionally, you value the importance of teamwork and of listening, challenging your peers and making a difference. You are confident to bring innovation to the table. You have the agility to engage with a variety of stakeholders at all levels and the ability to manage multiple priorities while remaining focused on excellence. Consultative approaches to providing solutions regarding challenging assignments mixed with exceptional customer service are critical skills you’ve demonstrated over your career.
