We are currently seeking an Occupations Coordinator for work on our Level Crossing Removal Project. This large-scale project will benefit train users, pedestrians, cyclists and drivers by improving safety, reducing congestion and enabling more frequent train services.

In this role, you will assist the Occupations Manager in the implementation of the Occupation Management process, ensuring safe and efficient utilisation of all track occupations by working closely with the Infrastructure Department, Operations and individual Projects.


• Plan, organise, direct, coordinate and monitor all project Rail Access and Occupations so far as practicably reasonable so as to minimise their effect on train operations whilst ensuring that construction requirements are meet.
• Work closely with other Occupation Management Team members to ensure all Occupations are tracked, published correctly and distributed effectively.
• Interface & coordinate the involvement non-Alliance MTM works in project meetings, workshops and the like.
• Manage access permits and coordinate the requirements for all required occupations, including where applicable, overhead personal, overhead safety observes and other relevant compliance personal.
• Produce occupation coordination documents including Occupation Works Guide, workgroup site plan, occupation schedule and shift plans using MS software and alike.
• Provide advice and assistance to the project delivery teams for the development, review of delivery strategies and provide advice and guidance on the impact that occupations are likely to have on train operations.

To be successful in the role, your previous experience will include:

• Level 1 Train Track Awareness.
• Construction Industry Card.
• Project Management certificate is preferred.
• Rail experience is preferred but not essential.
• Experience in coordinating multiple teams.
• Good level of experience in using Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Strong safety focus and a willingness to promote a safe working culture.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to resolve both technical and general issues with all stakeholders.
• Time management and awareness of meeting deadlines and deliverables.
• Understanding the importance of interfacing with colleagues on a common project with a ‘best for business’ approach to problem solving and prioritizing.
