Metro Trains Melbourne is a multi-award winning organisation and we pride ourselves on our team of high performing professionals who are talented, inclusive and safety focused.

We are currently seeking an Occupation Manager with proven project management skills in delivery multi discipline works, for work on our Level Crossing Removal Projects.This large-scale program of works will benefit train users, pedestrians, cyclists and drivers by improving safety, reducing congestion and enabling more frequent train services.

 
In this role, you will plan, direct, manage and monitor all project Rail Access and Occupations so far as practicably reasonable so as to minimise their effect on train operations whilst ensuring that construction requirements are met.

Accountabilities:

• Manage access permits and coordinate the requirements for all required occupations, including overhead personnel, overhead safety observers and other relevant compliance personnel.
• Produce occupation coordination documents such as Occupation Works Guide, workgroup site plan, manage the occupation schedule and shift plans.
• Chair occupation coordination forums including weekly workgroup reviews, site walks, and lessons learnt.
• Provide advice and assistance to the project delivery teams for the development, review of delivery strategies and provide advice and guidance on the impact that occupations are likely to have on train operations.
• Interface & coordinate the involvement non-Alliance MTM works in project meetings, workshops and the like.
• Ensure all accepted Occupation Applications are ‘Requested’ accurately and in a timely manner.
• Provide on-site support and undertake audits.
• Represent the project at client meetings.

To be successful in the role, your previous experience will include:

• Engineer with construction experience is essential.
• Project Management certificate is desirable.
• Rail Industry Card is desirable.
• Management experience.
• Experience in the railway construction industry with an understanding of the complexities of construction within the railway corridor.
• Ability to challenge methods, timing and strategies proposed.
• Report writing skills using MS Word & Power Point.
• Intermediate skills level in Excel.
• Familiar with primavera.
• Confident in delivering presentations to large groups and taking the lead in meetings, workshops & reviews.
