About the role:
Network Operations are the thriving hub of our business that keep the railway moving.  The Technical Head of Network Operations is required to provide technical expertise, leadership and managerial knowledge across train control, fleet control and signallers within their area of expertise. They are required to apply their expertise to all network operations to ensure output is delivered safely and as efficiently as possible.

Duties:

  • Manage and provide delivery of technical training and improvement for network operations
  • Undertake investigations and audits relating to technical compliance
  • Lead technical improvements where non-conformances or opportunities exist
  • Seek and implement innovative methods of improving productivity and safety
  • Assist with planning, project management, work methodology and implementation of the introduction and improvement of control system technologies from the operations team’s perspective
  • Perform risk assessments of processes, work practices, materials, and suppliers
  • Liaise with external stakeholders to review compliance, innovations, performance and improvement activities

About you:
First and fore mostly, you need to care about people and the railway. Safety to you is second to none. You bring extensive experience within a large and complex rail operational environment and confidently demonstrate success applying technical standards and making judgement on standard interpretations. You have technical knowledge and expertise in the operation of train control and signalling systems.
