Job description:
Mercer is a global market leader and we have the opportunity for a Legislative Analyst to join the Legislation and Process Advisory team based in Sydney or Melbourne. This may be the opportunity for a senior administrator/team leader to move into a specialist role.   Your duties will include:
  • Research and understand legislative or business change
  • Analyse impacts of legislative change on systems and administration processes
  • Liaise with business stakeholders and technical teams
  • Investigate and analyse data to develop best practice solutions
  • Develop, assist with execution of or review project requirement documentation e.g. functional specifications, test plans  
  • Review updates to documents impacted by legislative change to ensure they meet requirements e.g. system specifications, procedures, letters, forms etc.
  • Develop communications  including articles for our monthly newsletter and provide training and support for business users as required,
  • Provide technical legislative  procedural support, investigating and responding to business compliance or complex admin process enquiries
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
  • A strong background in superannuation fund administration
  • A solid technical understanding of superannuation benefit designs
  • Strong analytical, process and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to plan and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders 
  • Superb or Calibre system experience
  • Pension administration experience
  • Analytical  experience
  • ASFA accreditation
