We are continually looking at how we can improve on what we do and to this end we are seeking a Quality & Operational Risk Consultant to drive and support initiatives across the business to enable high quality services to be delivered to our clients and their members.

About the Role
To support Mercer deliver quality services, you will work with business leaders and operational teams to identify, manage and mitigate operational risk.  To be successful in this role you will have a proven understanding of operational risk and control methods, be able to develop an informed view of operational risk areas within the business and lead initiatives to enhance controls.

Responsibilities
  • Completion of the operational risk and control assessment reviews (Quality of Controls Program) to identify opportunities for improvements to mitigate risk
  • Analysis of risk based data, including incidents, audit findings, regulator findings, loss events, client feedback and other relevant information to identify root cause and trends.
  • Lead investigations on actual incidents and errors
  • Work with the operational teams in facilitating and monitoring the implementation of initiatives to improve quality and controls 
Additionally you will have:
  • A graduate degree in business with at least 4 years’ experience in a financial services environment
  • Proven record in analyzing operational risk and providing insights on risk mitigation in a large complex organization
  • Strong understanding of risk management and controls – superannuation administration preferred
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with proven ability to negotiate outcomes with multiple stakeholder groups
  • Risk management advisory and internal / external audit experience
