Job description:
McArthur River Mine (MRM) is one of the world’s largest Zinc, Lead and Silver deposits and is the largest supplier of Bulk Concentrate to the world market. Currently, this world class ‘Here’s Your Chance’ deposit has a long 20 year mine life.

We are currently seeking an experienced and driven Civil Engineer to join the Metallurgy team. You will be working in a team environment that shares knowledge and skills and have exposure to challenging work that will enhance your career development.

Reporting to the Manager Metallurgy and Port Operations, your key responsibilities will include:
  • Coordinating and effectively planning and resourcing all projects.
  • Ensuring that new equipment or modifications are installed to statutory standards.
  • Providing professional assistance to other departments as required.
  • Ensuring the tailings storage facility is operated as per the engineering design and ANCOLD guidelines.
  • Compliance with Department of Primary Industries and Resources (DPIR) requirements for reporting on operational performance and respond to and DPIR requests for information relating to the tailings storage facility.

To secure this role you will need:
  • A civil engineering degree from a recognised tertiary institution, coupled with several years relevant mining industry experience.
  • A sound knowledge of risk management, safety systems and legislative requirements.
  • Demonstrated, visible leadership and accountability for HSE, with the ability to work in accordance to operational policies and procedures.
