Engineering/Manufacturing Sector

Temporary Full Time (2 year contract)

The Latrobe Valley economy is currently in an exciting period of change as it transforms to a strong and sustainable regional jobs and investment hub in Victoria.

Latrobe Valley Authority, Latrobe City Council, Baw Baw Shire Council and Wellington Shire Council have partnered to offer four exciting roles working across Government to drive economic development and investment opportunities in the greater Latrobe Valley region.

The Economic Project Manager Engineering/Manufacturing Sector position will include:

  • Contributing to advancing the development of an engineering and manufacturing enterprise industry cluster
  • Taking a leadership role in the development and facilitation of the industry cluster
  • Proactively seeking out business and development opportunities for the cluster
  • Undertaking project management monitoring and evaluation and project engagement
  • Facilitating and leading economic development vision and strategy for greater Latrobe Valley region

The successful candidate will have a sound knowledge of economic and business challenges and opportunities in the Latrobe Valley, with demonstrated experience in facilitating genuine collaboration between governments, the community and industry. Presenting with excellent interpersonal and networking skills, the successful candidate will also have demonstrated experience working with a diverse range of stakeholders.

This role will be located at Latrobe City Council Corporate Headquarters, 141 Commercial Road, Morwell 3840 and will be required to travel between Baw Baw Shire and Wellington Council.
