About the role

We currently have exciting opportunities for junior secretarial positions in our Melbourne office for multiple practice areas. These roles present an exciting opportunity to kick start your career assisting practice groups and partners in all areas of secretarial support.

What does the role involve?

  • Diary management
  • Administrative support to partners and fee earners in the practice group
  • Assisting with the monthly billing process
  • Managing the team's filing including electronic files
  • Handling confidential information and opening new matters
  • Inputting and maintaining client data into client relationship software (Interaction)
  • Assisting with client queries


The ideal candidate will have completed a Diploma or Certificate in Legal Practice / Business Administration or have 12 months experience in an administrative role. Familiarity with the legal industry would be advantageous. Working in one of our eight practice areas, you will experience the daily operations of a commercial law firm and learn what it takes to be a supportive team player for our partners and lawyers.

You should be practical and proactive in your approach in addition to demonstrating strong problem solving skills and work well in a team.

To be successful in this role you will ideally have experience working in a medium to large sized law firm and be highly organised. You should be able to work efficiently and use your initiative, as well as being proactive in your approach to tasks and showing exemplary attention to detail.

Strong Microsoft Office skills are essential, as are excellent communication skills. You will be capable of using automated billing systems and client relationship management software (Elite and InterAction preferred).
