About the Role

The Safety and Wellbeing Specialist is an integral part of the IAG Australia Employee Relations and Workplace Health & Safety Team, responsible for supporting the IAG (AU) business to develop leadership capability, drive towards a calculative safety culture, mitigate key risks and develop and operationalise AU safety management system.

Key Responsibilities Include:  

  • Collaborate with the Enterprise WHS team to evolve the Group standards and ensure AU''s adherence to these standards.
  • Operationalise the Group WHS 2020 strategy by developing annual regional business plans.
  • Provide reporting to EGM, GM and leadership teams against WHS metrics
  • Critical Incident Response: Coordinate the end-to-end incident response and investigation. 
  • Management of key regional suppliers.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 3 – 5 years'' workplace health and safety experience (essential) within a corporate environment (preferred)
  • Certificate III or IV in Work Health Safety (essential)
  • Tertiary Qualifications in workplace safety or related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of innovative and contemporary safety initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise, advise and negotiate effectively with key stakeholders including management, staff, industrial organisations and external agencies on safety issues.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management and prioritisation skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel for work purposes
