IBM are on the lookout for a Procurement Senior Managing consultant to join their team.
 
This role is responsible for building and leading relationships with diverse client stakeholders and providing consultation on procurement practices including Source to Pay (S2P), Procure to Pay (P2P), Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), Category Management (CM) and Contract Management.  The role will also entail developing a pipeline of strategic procurement process improvement initiatives and productivity programs for clients, and mobilising cross functional project teams to deliver them.
 
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
 
Day to day duties will consist of, but will not be limited to:
  • Understanding client strategy across the procurement and finance business functions
  • Identifying client business problems or improvement opportunities and developing a strategy to support execution
  • Gathering client requirements and translating them into a roadmap for execution
  • Providing client consultation on Procurement practices (S2P, P2P, SRM, CM contract Management), processes and systems
  • Establishing a pipeline of new continuous improvement initiatives and productivity programs, and develop business cases to establish support
  • Understanding changes in the industry and integrating new process and/or technology enablers into client strategy
  • Managing complex project plans, and delivering to key milestones
  • Leading cross functional project teams where required
  • Providing direct support and coaching to team members and the client
  • Preparing and presenting strategy, and outcomes of projects and initiatives to the client
  • Other duties as assigned
 
 
REQUIRED SKILLS
 
Candidates must be proficient in:
  • Expertise in procurement, including understanding of emerging trends and enablers
  • Understanding the needs of clients - this includes knowing their priorities and motivations, their network and organization
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with peer groups and key internal and external stakeholders
  • Communicating effectively with clients at various levels of the business (written and oral) and influencing as required
  • Developing and delivering effective presentations
  • Managing tight timelines
  • Analysing complex or technical problems
  • Innovative thinking
  • Motivating team members to deliver to expected outcomes
 
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline
  • Five or more years Procurement experience
 
 
 
This role may be based in Sydney or Melbourne
