Our fast-growing Cognitive Enterprise Automation practice is where we bring together the best of IBM technology in cloud, cloud-native development, cognitive computing and robotics to solve business problems for our enterprise clients.
As a Lead Automation Developer in this practice, you work with our clients and across the IBM organisation to initially build successful automation Proof-of-Concepts and then support the scale out of automation to an enterprise level.  
Appling global best practices and architectures you will use Design Thinking techniques to define Proof-of-Concepts and then drive an Agile implementation to rapidly prove the benefits of automation.   You will then maintain client relationships and become a technical advisor as we jointly scale out automation to enterprise levels.

  • Gather requirements by conducting interviews, Story Mapping, Storyboarding, work flow analysis, process analysis, and observation sessions.
  • Write concise and effective User Stories that capture the Product Owner’s business needs.
  • Define precise and accurate User Story’s that can be used by Automation Developers to understand the Product Owner’s intent and translate into an automation implementation.
  • Lead Product Backlog Grooming on multiple client projects.
  • Evaluate information from multiple sources and help distinguish user requests from user needs.
  • Arrange client reviews and demos of automation under development, ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Support key business relationships across our client’s organisation.
  • Serve as the Proxy for the Business Product Owner in directing the Automation Development team.
  • Foster Agile principles and methods.
Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of business systems analysis experience with a strong emphasis on new software development.
  • 2+ years of experience in a true Agile / Scrum  environment.
  • Well-versed in Backlog grooming, Story estimation and Story prioritization techniques.
  • Proven skill and effectiveness in requirements gathering, definition, data analysis, process analysis, business and functional requirements analysis, system design, testing implementation, and change management.
  • Must have exceptional soft skills, including the ability to speak to both technical and business concerns.
  • Ability to mentor and coach others.
  • Experience with Artificial Intelligence or machine learning based technologies.
  • Experience of robotics technologies; such as Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere or WinAutomation.
  • Experience in cloud-native development.
Based in Melbourne you will be a self-starter, entrepreneurial, creative problem solver, have a strong work ethic, have a sound knowledge of the automation market and have significant experience as a technology leader, be independent, but also able to work as part of a larger team and know how to navigate a corporate business (externally and internally).
