The Test Automation Specialist is responsible for developing and enforcing quality standards and measures for software development life cycle. The successful applicant will play an instrumental role in defining testing processes, driving test methods and test metrics. You will apply proven analytical and problem-solving skills to help validate IT projects through risk based system testing in order to maximize the benefit of business investments in IT projects.

Education and Experience:
  • You will be degree qualified, have 10 years of experience in a Testing Role including 5 years’ experience in leadership role.
  • Demonstrate experience in executing test scripts demonstrate writing of test scripts
  • Demonstrate ability to test functionality for custom services applications can work with client test tools (ie SOAP UI, Rational Test products, etc)
  • Demonstrate experience in creating and running automated test scripts
  • Demonstrated Experienced in testing with a technical background of a system that complies with a published technical standard/specification
Key Responsibilities :
  • Leading the development and enforcement of quality control measures and testing standards for new applications and/or enhancements to existing applications in an Agile SCRUM software development environment.
  • Applying accepted methodologies for the collection and analysis of metrics to ensuring software, systems and product quality.
  • Ensuring that software quality measures comply with regulatory standards, industry standards and accepted best practices.
  • Assessing test practices, standards, processes and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Developing test strategies including approach, automation and environment requirements.
  • Leading the analysis of formal test results in order to discover and report software defects.
  • Championing verification practices for early defect removal such as participating in project requirements and design reviews to ensure testable requirements.
  • Developing system test plans, writing and executing system test cases/scripts in an Agile SCRUM software development environment.
  • Establishing and apply metrics to determine the readiness, quality, and operability of software, systems and products.
  • Creating and executing system test plans and scripts that will determine optimal application performance according to specifications.
  • Conducting testing of new applications to ensure products meet functional requirements, system compliance and technical specifications.
  • Communicating system test progress, test results and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management.
  • Cultivating and disseminating knowledge of quality assurance best practices.
Mandatory Requirement:
  1. Be an Australian citizen
  2. Been resident in Australia for the past 5 years (i.e., can't have moved to Australia only 4 or 4.5 years ago)
  3. Not spent greater than 12 months cumulative out of Australia during the past 5 years
  4. Satisfy an AU Gov client Pre-Engagement Integrity Check
  5. Be eligible to obtain an AGSVA baseline security clearance or already have AGSVA baseline security clearance
