About the Hospital: Hurstville Private is a 135 bed acute surgical & obstetric hospital with 7 operating suites. The hospital has recently undergone a significant redevelopment with the introduction of an intensive care unit, coronary care unit and a cardiac catheter laboratory. The Medical Services Unit opened in June 2016 to accommodate 22 acute medical patients.

About the Role: A casual position (with potential to move to permanent part time) is now available in our Department of Health Information Services. We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Administration Officer who is looking to take the next step in their career. to join and help develop a dynamic team. The succussful candidate will need a commitment to high standards, attention to detail, confidentiality and protect the privacy of our patients.

Essential Qualifications

  • Outstanding time management and organisational skills including; ability to take initiative, application of problem solving, and capability in decision making

  • Computer experience
  • Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment and prioritise workload appropriately

Desirable Criteria:

  • Knowledge of legal requirements for department

  • Knowledge and understanding of Patient Management Systems including WebPAS

  • Previous experience in the Healthcare setting

  • School Certificate or equivalent secondary qualification

  • Medical Terminology

  • Use of Terminal digit Filing System
