The aggregates business operates over 70 quarry sites producing hard rock, sand and gravel materials essential for the construction industry.

About the role:
The Operations Manager East Perth will provide support to Quarry Managers across your specific region including delivery of key capital upgrades and operational improvement initiatives. 
You will be responsible for driving standardisation and best practice sharing and improving the operational performance of the business.

Ultimately you will be responsible for ensuring customer requirements are met in the most efficient and safe manner.

Duties and responsibilities:
  • Work closely with managers and staff within the region to achieve operational objectives
  • Provide strong leadership in HSE, financial performance and operational improvement
  • Ensure all sites implement operational standards and oversee capital programs
  • Managing both internal and external stakeholder relationships to achieve desired outcomes
  • Measure and monitor key performance indicators.
  • Develop operational improvement plan that reflect productivity and cost improvements.
  • Seek opportunities to recruit and develop people for key operational roles.
  • Ensure a safe and supportive place of work at all our sites.
  • Ensure we comply with our operating permits and licenses.
  • Engage with the business, customers and the community we operation in.
Skills and experience:
To be successful in the role you will possess the following personal characteristics, experience and qualifications.
  • Tertiary qualifications in an engineering, business or relevant discipline
  • Quarry Manager Certificate and or qualifications in extractive industry
  • Excellent leadership experience and demonstrated success in driving targeted safety behaviors to achieve zero harm.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to manage costs across operations and capital improvement projects. 
  • Highly disciplined with a natural drive to set the best standards.
  • Able to effectively manage both internal and external stakeholder relationships. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully lead change and develop others.
