More about the role

The role of the Level 1/ 2 Exercise Physiologist is to work within the Mission and Mission in Action of HammondCare to ensure a high standard of Exercise Physiology service is provided to patients of the Hospital, along with appropriate support and advice to their carers. The Exercise Physiologist will participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure a patient centred, evidence based, continuous quality improvement work environment that is consistent with the values and ethics of HammondCare and Exercise and Sports Science Australia.

The essence of this role:

  • Provision of effective and efficient Exercise Physiology service to clients and appropriate support and advice to their carers
  • Participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team in assessing patients’ level of functional mobility and care needs, setting care goals and providing appropriate treatment.
  • Participate as a member of the HammondCare team in the application of the organisation’s Mission and values to the pursuit of its objectives in a client centred, continuous quality improvement work environment

About you


  • Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action.
  • A tertiary qualification in Exercise Physiology and accreditation as an Exercise Physiologist with ESSA
  • Minimum 1 year of post graduate clinical experience
  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal)
  • Demonstrated organisation and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Empathy and patience


  • Previous practical experience or knowledge in providing Exercise Physiology Services in a Rehabilitation or Aged Care setting
  • Experience or interest in Tai Chi
